Planning & Inspections

About the Planning & Inspections Department

Zoning and Planning are essential functions of local government, ensuring the thoughtful growth, development, and regulation of the Town of Franklinton.

Zoning focuses on determining the appropriate uses and development of properties, helping to maintain a balance between community needs and land use.
Planning takes a broader approach, strategically guiding and refining proposed developments—both public and private—to align with the Town’s vision and goals.

Due to the time required to address most planning and zoning requests, we strongly encourage scheduling an appointment before visiting Town Hall. To make an appointment, please call 919-339-0261 or contact the Town Planner at cgeorge@franklintonnc.gov.
